The Ben Jackson Foundation is pleased to introduce our newest award recipient, Coltyn Winkers. Brittany Kiefer, his girlfriend, nominated him for this award.
Coltyn is a 2018 graduate of Belleville High School and has enlisted in the Air Force. He will be going to San Antonio, Texas for basic training. This will be is first visit to Texas.
After graduating from High School, he attended UW Platteville for one year where he studied law enforcement while living on campus. After a year of attending UW-Platteville, he decided to enlist in the Air Force.
“It was something I was always interested in growing up and wanted to straight out of high school but never really had the courage to join and commit to it.”
He leaves for basic training on December 10. After basic training, he will be trained as an aircraft mechanic.
The Travel Award will allow Coltyn to be to come home to visit with his younger siblings, family and friends. His girlfriend, Brittany, will miss his friendship while he is away.
